Description:

Caught trying to steal a time shard, you have been exiled by the gods of light for your transgressions.

You are doomed to live out in this spectral purgatory for all eternity.

And in a cruel act of punishment, the light gods have allowed you to retain this time shard, only for it to activate at the depths of the abyss.

Forever doomed to relive this dread, despite losing all your life force to the inhabitants of the void.

These ghosts feed on an remaining life force you have left, to temporarily fill the endless hunger.

However, in their benevolence, the gods of light have given you a source of light to ward off the ghosts that haunt this realm.

Survive... if you can, even if things look "bleek".

Developer Notes:

Initially, I wanted to create a 2D platforming style game, but ran into some problems with some of the ideas/ mechanics I had in mind.

Also had an idea where you would travel around a procedurally generated world, collecting upgrades + meeting the inhabitants of the void. Very rouge-like inspired. But this was way too ambitious for something in a week (especially since I spent about a day thinking about the idea + working on the platforming version of the game a day earlier.)

Decided also to cut back on the scope and keep it within 1 screen and have some of the enemies attacking the player here.

P.S. "Bleak" is the correct spelling, just decided to misspell it to help it stand out a little. I dunno, I thought about this last minute lol

Anyways, if you find any issues, or bugs, please let me know and I will try my best to fix them quickly!

Thank you for playing! :D

Have an awesome day.

I really love the art style and animation. Especially for the player character. Really great walk cycle. Fun little game, glad you adapted your concept and submitted it. Nice work!

Thank you for playing the game!

Glad you like the player character and animations! (This is my favorite part of game design.) :D

Also, I tried my best to make something somewhat unique with the game's theme.
